In addition to the Environment Agency alert update, MVDC Councillors report that the Agency will be installing temporary barriers once again near the town bridge, as more rain is expected.

River levels remain high in the Cobham area as a result of heavy rainfall on Thursday 13/02/2020. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains. Further rainfall, associated with Storm Dennis, is forecast through Saturday 15/02/2020 and Sunday 16/02/2020. Our incident response staff are actively monitoring the situation and are prepared to respond if required. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 15/02/2020, or as the situation changes.
